A Clinical Analysis of Corsosive Esophagitis in Cheju-Do

Abstract
|
|
|
A clinical analysis was made for the 33 cases of corrosive esophagitis in Cheju-Do provincial. hospital from Jan. ‘ 71 to Dec. ‘ 72.
The results were as follow;
1. The sex ratio, male to female, was 1 : 2.3
2. The highest incidence, 69.7% was found at the age group of 11 years to 30 years.
3. The number of cases ingested acetic acid were 30(91%).
4. 28 cases (84.8%) visited the hospital within 2 hours after ingestion of caustic agent.
5. Leucocytosis was the prominent lab. findings.
6. Espophageal stricure developed in 4 cases were expired.
